Answer: Brightly colored diamonds, called fancy diamonds, are a very rare commodity and depending on the size, they can be more costly than the clearest of clear, colorless, diamonds. Question: Where do you find fancy colored diamonds? Answer: Since fancy colored diamonds are rare and hard to find, most are bought by investment groups and individual collectors and dealers who have the money to buy them and to have them heavily insured. You may find the rarest of fancy diamonds on display at museums, jewelry conventions, at some well known jewelry stores, and at other venues. Question: Are colored diamonds worn in public? Answer: On any given day, someone who owns a rare gemstone or some other expensive piece of jewelry may decide to take it out and wear it on a special occasion or just for the fun of it. But when they do wear those items, they don't broadcast it to the world because of insurance and safety reasons.
