An important holiday for coffee connoisseurs

On September 29th of each year, millions of people celebrate National Coffee Day with a cup, or two, or three, of their favorite blend of coffee.

National Coffee Day is celebrated in many countries but on different days in different months. It is celebrated in the United States and a few other countries on September 29th of each year.

National Coffee Day is not a federal or state holiday but it is recognized by those who enjoy the taste and aroma of coffee. Many people drink coffee every day and find that a day set aside to honor it is a day worth celebrating.

Nearly 35% of the worlds coffee is consumed in the United States and it is fast becoming a favorite beverage for billions of people in other countries around the world.

There are literally hundreds of ways that coffee is prepared and it is generally served according to individual tastes. It is enjoyed hot, warm, at room temperature, cool, and iced.

Coffee is blended with ingredients such as mints, chocolate, almonds, vanilla, pecans, bananas, honey, cherries, apricots, creams, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginseng, nd other fruits, nuts, spices, and products that give distinctive flavors.

Instant coffee, cappuccino, caffe macchiato, kopi susu, espresso, melange, pocillo, Americano, chai latte, Vienna coffee, white coffee, Indian Filter, yuanyang, galao, ristretto, palazzo, mazagran, latte macchiato, green eye, Greek Frappe, cortado, melya, Cuban, cafe au lait, Arabica, and frappe are just a few names of coffees that are found around the world.

Hot coffee has always been a favorite energizer on cold mornings but it has become a popular drink for all times of day and night. It is served 24 hours a day in homes and in most restaurants, bars, clubs, and cafes.

The coffee industry has become a multi-billion dollar industry in it's own right. Major coffee chains such as Starbucks, Seattle's Best, Dunkin' Donuts, Peets, The Coffee Grind, and other chains have sprang up that serve coffee as their premiere menu item.

You can go in and either sit down and enjoy your coffee, much like a fast food restaurant, or take it with you and they even have drive thru windows. This makes it very easy for coffee drinkers to get his or her coffee while on the go.

National Coffee Day has become a big talking point for television and radio personalities. The subject of coffee, the benefits and the health risks, are brought up and talked about throughout the day.
