Fashion

The fashion industry is always running in high gear and you can read about something that is happening in the fashion industry every time you pick up a magazine or newspaper. It is featured in movies like "The Devil Wears Prada" and in books such as "How To Be A Budget Fashionista" by Kathryn Finney.

The fashion industry is forever evolving and it changes from day to day, season to season, and from year to year. Fashion designers change the way we dress on a consistent basis and keep us guessing what new look will be in style tomorrow.

Much of what we do on a daily basis is dictated by styles and fashions from the clothing industry and change, in one way or another, is always taking place when it comes to what is in style today and what will be in style next year.

Something new is introduced every single day as designers keep their eyes on the marketplace and on the drawing boards. Top fashion designers know that they have to be alert, competitive, and stay ahead of the game because they know that there are talented designers waiting to take the top spot from them.

Fashion experts look at and study trends in pop culture and in up to date fashionable styles. It is their job to know what is hot and what is not and which designers are making the right moves in the fashion world.

Fashion design is one of the largest, most competitive, industries in the world. To understand this, all you have to do is take a look around you, at your friends, collegues, neighbors, and at yourself. Everyone, including you, is dressed in something that is considered fashionable for today.

There is a designer label on everything you wear, whether it is a dress, skirt, pants, blazer, a suit, a blouse, shirt, tie, or shoes. You can find designer labels on hats, scarves, underwear, jackets, coats, or any other apparel.

You have probably heard of these well know names in the fashion industry, Ives Saint Laurent, Gloria Vanderbilt, Prada, Calvin Klein, Versace, Ralph Lauren, Elizabeth Arden, Christian Dior, Georgio Armani, Pierre Cardin, Oleg Cassini, and Bill Blass, just to name a few.

And there are many other name brands that have a direct influence on the clothes we buy and wear such a South Pole, Levi, Delicates, St. Johns Bay, Polo, Lee, Sag Harbor, Liz Baker, Arizona and Eddie Bauer, and the list goes on and on.

Several celebrities and sports figures have jumped into the fashion craze as well; Jennifer Lopez "J-Lo," Michael Jordan, Sean Jean by Sean "P Diddy" Combs, Roc-A-Wear by Jay Z., and the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, have all become well known fashion icons.

But fashions go much further than this. Colleges and professional sports teams play a big role in what is worn around the world. Most colleges sell clothing with their names and logos on them.

Popular college name brands include the Duke Blue Devils, the UCLA Bruins, the Miami Hurricanes, the Texas Longhorns, the Michigan Wolverines, the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, the Oklahoma Sooners, the USC Trojans, and the Oregon Ducks.

Professional team brand names of clothing are offered by the Pittsburg Steelers, the New York Yankees, the Oakland Raiders, the Texas Rangers, the Carolina Panthers, the Los Angeles Lakers, the San Jose Sharks, and all the other professional teams.

Tennis and sports shoe companies such as Nike, British Knights, Converse, Adidas, Asics, Sketchers, Filas, New Balance, Reebok and K-Swiss offer different styles and comfort levels in sports shoes.

The fashion industry is one that never sleeps and the competition is so fierce that one misstep by any company can mean disaster for it's sales and it's reputation.
